Black Bean Burger

A tasty alternative to meat! If you don't want to grill these, you can bake them at 375 degrees for about ten minutes on each side.

1 (16 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 egg
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 Tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs

For the grill, lightly oil a sheet of aluminum foil to place on the grill.
In a medium bowl, mash black beans with a fork until thick and pasty. Add onion and garlic; mix well.
In a small bowl, stir together egg, chili powder, cumin, and chili sauce.
Stir egg mixture into the mashed beans. Mix in bread crumbs until the mixture is sticky and holds together. Divide mixture into four patties.
Grill about eight minutes on each side.
